The Cottage
Quailway Cottage is a lovely southwestern cottage located on 20 acres of desert habitat. The Cottage lies in the Chihuahuan desert between the Chiricahua Mountains on the west and the Peloncillo Mountain range on the east. The Cottage is located five miles from the famed Cave Creek Canyon, summer home of the Elegant Trogon and many other species of birds found only in southeastern Arizona and adjacent New Mexico. Over 350 species of birds have been observed on the east side of the Chiricahua Mountains.
The 600 square-foot private cottage includes a fully furnished kitchen (stove top, no oven), dining area and living room combination, large sitting bedroom with satellite television and DVD, full bath, walk-in closet, and full laundry facilities. The bedroom sitting area has a private entrance with a covered patio that overlooks a small pond, providing excellent bird and wildlife watching and just relaxing outdoors. The covered front entrance also has a sitting area.
Sleeping accommodations include one twin and one queen bed in the bedroom and a twin bed in the living room area. The Cottage has air conditioning and central heating for year-round comfort and a Franklin wood-burning stove. A private picnic area with a gas grill and table is located near the cottage for guest use.

For those not wanting to cook, meals are available at small local cafes in Portal and Rodeo. Supplies may be purchased in Tucson or Willcox, Arizona, if you are coming from the west; in Deming or Las Cruces, NM, if you are coming from the east; and in Douglas if you are coming from the south. Essential needs may be purchased locally at small stores in Portal and Rodeo.
